Town-Wide Clean Up Day 2026

It’s time for some spring cleaning! Join your neighbors in keeping our beautiful home town sparkling. We’re providing the containers—you just bring the elbow grease. Let’s work together to keep Del Norte looking its absolute best!

  • Date: Friday, April 24, 2026

  • Time: 7:30 A.M. to 3:00 P.M.

  • Location: 2nd & Cherry Street (Public Works Building Parking Lot)

💡 Pro-Tip: This event is “Self-Service.” You haul it, you dump it, and we’ll take care of the rest!

📋 What You’ll Need

To participate, please bring proof of in-town Del Norte residency. We accept:

  • A valid Photo I.D.

  • OR Your Del Norte Utility Billing statement.

🚫 What We Can’t Take

To keep everyone safe and follow landfill regulations, we cannot accept the following:

  • Tires & Electronics

  • Household Trash (Please, no “stored up” kitchen bags!)

  • Construction/Building Materials

  • Hazardous Waste: Includes paint (latex or oil), flammable liquids, motor oil, antifreeze, batteries, aerosols, acids, and unknown chemicals.

🌬️ A Note on the Weather

Safety first! Our schedule depends on the San Luis Valley Landfill regulations. If it gets too windy, we may have to wrap things up early, so try to come by sooner rather than later!
