Municipal Court

The Del Norte Municipal Court is presided over by the Honorable Judge Barbara Zollars.

The Municipal Court shall have original jurisdiction on all cases arising under this Code and other ordinances of the Town, with full power to carry the same into effect and to punish violations thereof by the imposition of fines and penalties in accordance with Section 1-4-20 of this Code.

Del Norte Court handles citations issued by the Del Norte Police Department for traffic, parking, ordinance violations and petty/misdemeanor offenses.

Paying Court Fees

Payment in full of all fines, costs, fees and restitution (if applicable) is due and payable immediately upon a plea of guilty or a finding of guilty.

If you wish to pay a fine before your scheduled court, you may do so in most cases. Many cases are payable in advance of Court and, if paid, do not require a Court appearance.

By paying the fine, you are pleading guilty to the charged offense. Based upon the payment, a conviction would be entered. If the charge is a violation of the Model Traffic Code, a report of the conviction would be made to the Colorado Division of Motor Vehicles and points would be assessed on your driver’s record. The number of points for each offense should be indicated on the summons.

You can pay by electronic check or credit card at https://www.colorado.gov/payment/delnorte. For online payments, select “Del Norte Municipal Court” and have your Citation Number and payment amount ready.

Mail-In Payment

Make your check or money order payable to the Town of Del Norte. Include the blue copy of the summons with your payment.

Deferred Judgement

A deferment may be available if you qualify for this option. You will need to provide a driving history of at least five years and have not had any violations. The driving record does not need to be notarized. Your driving record can be obtained by contacting your State DMV. Please email your driving record prior to your Court date as this will assist in a faster resolution for you. Additional fees may be assessed.
